The Santa Claus Sketch has been restored by Merrill Coffin’s grand daughter, Elizabeth Gleason. The background has been whitened and all of the aging issues have been reversed in the print.
Mr. Coffin would sketch these caricatures for his children and grand children. Many birthday presents were presented in brown grocery bags with a special caricature drawn on the bag.
